Compassionate In-Home Pet Euthanasia Sarasota
The decision to help our beloved pets cross the rainbow bridge is never an easy one. But when the time comes, we can assist. A peaceful transition in the comfort of home, surrounded by family and friends, is a gift.
Why choose in home pet euthanasia ?
Peace and Comfort of Home
Our pets feels safe and secure at home with their own bed, their own toys and the smells and sounds familiar to them. Dogs with cognitive dysfunction or mobility issues can become stressed when leaving their home and most cats dislike leaving home.
Avoid the pain and stress of a car ride
As our pets age they may have difficulty getting into and out of the car or keeping their balance. Most cats are not big fans of car rides and often experience stress & motion sickness during the drive.
Avoid a stressful visit to the veterinary hospital
Many pets associate the veterinary hospital with a painful procedure or experience. Cats, especially ones that don’t live with dogs, can be stressed by the sights and smells of the hospital. An in-home service also allows for a bit more privacy as hospital waiting rooms can get very busy at times.
Surrounded by friends & family
Allows for our other pets and family members to be present to hug and comfort them as they peacefully drift off to sleep. Some owners choose to say a prayer, play music or share stories about their adventures together. This helps give understanding and closure as their loved one peacefully crosses over the rainbow bridge.
Emotional well being
The decision to euthanize our beloved pets can be very emotional. For our own physical & emotional well being, sometimes it is helpful to be at home where we feel comfortable surrounded by our family, friends and other pets.
How do I know when it is time ?
As pet owners, we often struggle with the question of when is an appropriate time to help our beloved pet transition peacefully. To help answer this question, we often recommend a helpful quality of life survey put out by The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center. It can provide a nice perspective on our pet’s quality of life and general well being. Quality of life involves many aspects both mental and physical plus environment and family dynamics.
